'Certificate in Language Teaching' Graduation
The Department of Education and Communities has funded the professional development of teachers in NSW Community Languages Schools for many years. The Certificate in Language Teaching aims to develop teachers' skills and expertise for successful teaching of young people in the Australian context. It was written at the University of Wollongong in 2006 and revised by the University of Sydney in 2011.

The University of Sydney held the 'Certificate in Language Teaching' graduation in the Great Hall on Sunday, the 13th November.
AICLS congratulates the about 200 Community Languages Schools' teachers to their graduation on this day.

AICLS likes to thank especially Associate Professor Ken Cruickshank for developing, leading and organising this course with its thirteen lecturers, five staff and numerous helpers at nine different teaching locations.
New Online Course 'Behaviour Management'
A new online course called 'Behaviour Management' has been put up on the EDU20 platform.

Viva La Gong Street Parade
This year as part of the Viva La Gong Festival,on the 12th of November, AICLS took part in the street parade.
Several schools were marching in this parade and all students participating had a great time and were proud to represent their school.
AICLS likes to thank all the students, teachers and parents in participating.

Sign of the times: school finds success with new way of teaching languages

New online course
A new online course 'Dictation' is available for all teachers to enrol.
This course aims to increase the understanding of the value of ‘Dictations’.
Teachers will learn to present ‘Dictations’ in a more interesting and fun way and
therefore increase the students learning outcomes according to any NSW Language Syllabus.
South Coast Chinese Language School's new website
The South Coast Chinese Language School opened their own website.

The school will start a self study Chinese (Mandarin) course online, commencing term 3, 2011.
