The NSW Community Languages Schools Program (CLSP) plays a vital role in supporting community language schools across New South Wales. Through this program, community organisations are able to deliver language and cultural education in more than 60 different languages, ranging from widely spoken world languages to smaller heritage and community languages. The program provides funding, resources, and professional learning opportunities to help volunteer-run schools deliver high-quality classes outside of normal school hours. These schools give thousands of children the chance to learn their heritage language, connect with their cultural identity, and develop the cognitive, social, and intercultural skills that come with multilingualism.
